*The film “La Grande Séduction”, or “Seducing Dr. Lewis”, was filmed on Harrington Island. By viewing a portion of the film, students can see firsthand how isolated the island where Marguerite de Roberval was supposedly marooned in 1542 remains even today. (Some scholars suggest that the marooning took place on Quirpon Island. Whatever views one holds on the topic, the portrayal of the isolated nature of an island in this geographical area can be enlightening for students.)
